Known Waters Co. ("we") is a small business run by one person. This page explains what we collect when you use knownwatersco.com and who helps us handle it. The short version: we collect what's needed to take your order, ship it, and email you, and nothing for advertising.
What we collect and why
- Orders. When you check out, payment is handled by Stripe on its own secure page. Stripe collects your name, email, card details, billing and shipping address, and phone number. We never see or store your card number.
- Shipping. We share your name, shipping address, phone, and email with Printful, which prints and ships your order.
- Email. Order confirmations, shipping updates, and (if you sign up) launch news are sent through Resend.
- Waitlist and town requests. If you join the list or request a town, we store your email, the towns you picked, and when you signed up, using Upstash (a database provider).
- Contact form. Your message is emailed to us and not stored on the site.
- Analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
Cookies and storage
The site doesn't set advertising or tracking cookies, so there's no cookie banner. Your browser's localStorage holds only your shopping bag, so it's still there when you come back.
How long we keep it
- Waitlist emails: until you unsubscribe (every email has a link, and unsubscribing deletes your record).
- Operational logs: 30 days. Logs don't include names, emails, or addresses.
- Order records: kept by Stripe and Printful under their own policies and as required for taxes and accounting.
Who we share it with
Only the processors above: Stripe, Printful, Resend, Upstash, and Vercel (our host). We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct, or delete what we hold about you. Email hello@knownwatersco.com and we'll handle it within 30 days.
